A 6 week course focusing on skills, loosening up and exploring the acrylic medium. Max 5-6 people.

These art classes explore more deeply how to apply your “unique self” to your paintings. They are for the absolute beginner through to the more experienced. During the 6 week course you will learn the basics in composition, colour, value, line, shape and texture as well as techniques to help you loosen up, find your unique painting voice and how to paint with more freedom. The classes will focus mainly on acrylic applications with some practice in mixed media such as oil and wax pastels and graphite.
Please bring your own materials: A4 and A3 acrylic paper pad (for painting and sketches roughly 280gsm), canvases (please bring a minimum of 2 canvases to work on each session, 66cm x 66cm or larger are ideal), a variety of brushes for painting small to medium-large works, acrylic paints, mixing palette (foil tray or large plastic plate from woolies/coles), water dish, paint rags, glazing medium (for extending the paint), matte gel medium (for collage work) wax pastels, graphite, notebook and pencil. Scissors and paper glue are also required for the first lesson.
