The light framed every single thing I saw and experienced in Italy and the illuminated objects changed in character with each stroke of the clock. Sometimes the shadows were long and dark and other times, short and sharp. The light also carried a consistent purple hue that most people associate with the Northern Hemisphere, but mostly I noticed how it adapted and changed the feeling of the object or scene you were witnessing. And how this in turn affected the relationship you developed with these things.
The painting "Golden Hour" is in reference to the golden hour of late afternoon where all the colours are at peak saturation and the contrast is super high. It's an exuberant display of all the finery that surrounds us at this particular time and one can't help feeling invigorated and lively.
