Not surprisingly, much of my time was spent in the Artist Studio at La Macina Di San Cresci which formed part of the original church dwelling including the wine cellars and olive and wine making rooms. The stone floor was made in the 10th century and the original olive press was still there in all its bulky glory. As such, there was a distinct energy enveloped in the stone walls and flooring and all the ancient infrastructure seemed to groan and gaze in your presence. While painting in there alone one might even consider the existence of ghosts ......
